Created at the initiative of Annabelle Divoy and organized with other members and friends of AIPPI’s Young Members Committee, the sPItch pleading competition celebrated its second edition last April 15 at Jones Day.
The evening’s program featured a case combining patent law and paranormal activities, before an outstanding jury composed of Mrs. Nathalie Sabotier (Senior Judge at the French Supreme Court, part-time Judge at the Court of Appeal of the UPC), Mrs. Aurélie Roux (Legal Director IP Department, Orano), and our colleague Emmanuel de Marcellus (Presiding the sPItch Jury, Partner at FTPA).
Two pairs of talented speakers, respectively coached by our partner Anaïs Pallut (equally committed to passing on knowledge to the next generation) and our colleague Victor Benincasa, took the floor to defend the interests of their fictional clients:
- Paul Puche and Astrid Arditi (associate and trainee at Hoyng Rokh Monegier), for the claimant,
- Marie Legros (associate at Gowling WLG) and Thomas Jeanclos (trainee at Sanofi), for the defense.
After lively deliberations in front of the audience—both insightful and entertaining—the jury awarded victory to the defense team, whom Pairs warmly congratulates!
